The applet demonstator shows the three indications and operating rules that would apply to
this style signal. The signal portrayed is a "shorty," which had a total height of 14' 10 1/2" for
the tricolor light signal and 15' for the searchlight signal. Either might appear with or without the relay box.
Since these were automatic signals, number plates would appear on the mast below the backplate.
Rule 509-B: When train is stopped by a Stop and Proceed signal, it may proceed:
(a)On single track at once at Restricted Speed.
(b)On two or more tracks at once at Restricted Speed. |
